Abstract

In the contemporary world, inclusion and social development represent the main mechanisms that are used to erase the profound disparities with which humanity is confronted in areas such as the general standard of living, life expectancy, the quality of the environment and basic social services (particularly medical and educational). The United Nations, the European Union and other international stakeholders of various sizes design their medium and long term policies of inclusion and social development by setting down a series of targets which would make the benefits of global economic progress be divided in a manner as equitable as possible.
