Abstract

This literature survey discusses sharecropping as a distinguished contract arrangement in agrarian economy. It takes critical position on the mainstream model of sharecropping as mechanism overcome asymmetric information by confronting the analysis the origins of risk and transaction cost with specific characteristic of agrarian economy
