Abstract

l996. szeptember 12 és 14-e között a grenoble-i Mendès France Egyetemen tartotta negyedik közgyűlését és az ezzel egybekötött nemzetközi konferenciáját az Európai Gazdaság-összehasonlító Társaság (EACES). A közel kétszáz résztvevő százhúszat is meghaladó előadását természetesen kivonatolni sem lehet. Ugyanakkor a tanácskozás pillanatfelvételként mutatta meg, hogy hol tart ma a közgazdaságtannak az az irányzata, amelyik a levezetés konzisztenciájánál továbbra is fontosabbnak véli a gyakorlati relevanciát. Sokféle iskola képviselői léptek színre: az empirikus iskolától a régi és az új institucionalizmuson át a pénzügyi elmélet és a fejlesztés-gazdaságtan képviselőiig, akik Spanyolországtól Finnországon át néhány nem európai országig (például Japán, Kína, Egyesült Államok) terjedő körből érkeztek. A tanácskozás fő témája az intézményeknek a gazdasági alkalmazkodásban játszott szerepe volt.
