Abstract

This paper discusses the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of its impact on both business and society. It comments on important data for 2020, describing the economic and social dimension of the arising COVID-19 pandemic, its uptake and main characteristics. In addition, the paper also comments on the methods to support the continuity of business and the support provided for the essential sectors. It outlines important statistics on the labor market and the economic impact of the pandemic on enterprises in Europe.
