Türkiye’de Büyüme Hızının Asimetrik Davranışı: Lstar Modeli

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Türkiye’nin çeyrek yıllık sanayi üretim endeksinin (1980-2006) büyüme hızını temsil edebileceğinden hareketle Türkiye’de büyüme hızının asimetrik davranışına dair kanıt bulabilmek için STAR modeli kullanılmıştır. STAR modelinin tahmin izleği öncelikle Türkiye verisine uygulanmıştır. İlk olarak, STAR tipi doğrusallık testi yapılmıştır. Doğrusallık boş hipotezinin reddedilmesinin ardından tahmin edilen lojistik STAR (LSTAR) modeli tahmin edilmiştir. İdeal modeli belirleyebilmek için geleneksel ve STAR modeline özgü tanılama testleri uygulanmıştır. İkinci aşamada tahmin edilen modelin ekstrapolasyon yöntemiyle elde edilen uzun dönem dengesi ve baskın karakteristik kökleri asimetrik dinamikleri anlamlandırmak için kullanılmış ve yorumlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak LSTAR modelinin kullanımını Türkiye bağlamında haklı çıkarmakta ve Türkiye’nin büyüme hızında bir asimetrinin varlığına işaret etmektedir.
