Social and economic effects of the restitution of the properties in Romania

Abstract

The defining feature of ownership is to provide an objective criterion to resolve potential conflicts in society. After 1990, restitution claims began as real assets to the rightful owners, either through compensation. Thus it was established the Property Fund which seeks the restitution of properties confiscated by the communist state of the market value. An economic problem of computability occurs in this situation, since it is necessary to estimate the outside market mechanisms, compensation. New shareholders will bear the risks or will enjoy benefits associated activities economic, which will be the absence of restitution or unearned income. Monetary compensation by the state of their rightful owners experiencing difficulties ethically and economically.
