Climate security, an important concept in the post cold war era

Author

Listed:
  • Mihaela Raileanu

Abstract

After the end of the Cold War, the threats to international security are no longer the same as in the previous period. Despite the diversification of threats, the concept of security has continued to remain the same. More than that, the concept of climate security is not usual for the international relations and political sciences theorists. It may be precisely the lack of appropriate conceptual tools to be the most important obstacle in order to seek solutions to a global problem such as climate change.
