Abstract

The Indian hotel sector is growing and the employees' welfare especially the work life balance (WLB) and satisfaction in star hotels of Dehradun requires analysis as per the gap in research from literature review. A descriptive study was conducted and the results are to be considered for the betterment of the sector. Work in hospitality sector has turned to be relatively extracting as client prospects in tours of comfort and range of services have arisen dramatically, farther augmented by violent competition in the sector. Therefore, it is getting critical for the staff to meet client demands and it gives ascent to work pressure. This pressure is-communicated in multitasking, increased hours of work, leading to passionate and physical strain and eventually leads to work-life imbalance. In case the imbalance goes unattended, it leads to employee dissatisfaction with job, swelled pressure and eventually job revise. The present-day study tried to understand this relationship between WLB, job satisfaction, job pressure and human resource (HR) development of hotel industry.
