Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to explore the costs associated with reverse logistics process and optimising the RL cost. Extensive literature review has been done in order to make the adequate network diagram of reverse logistics. A field survey has been done to analyse the various scenarios that helped in formulating the cases used in this study. In the present study hypothetical data has been taken and cost optimisation has been done in three different cases belongs to three different scenarios. The developed model is useful for optimise the configuration of the complete logistics network considering number of retailers and returning centres and optimise the reverse logistics route of product in terms of transportation cost. Authors made an attempt to propose an optimisation model considering the chain of activities associated in a typical apparel industry.
