Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of standardised food safety management systems on food safety throughout the supply chain. The research was carried out among several European countries on the legitimacy of implementing the requirements of ISO 22000 and an attempt was carried out to compare how the standard is perceived by entrepreneurs operating in the east and west of Europe. Throughout all the research process, great attention was paid to the impact of the ISO 22000 standard on the functioning of logistics processes in supply chains as this aspect is scarcely addressed in the literature on the subject. According to the authors, the research results may prove useful for European entrepreneurs considering the implementation and certification against the requirements of the ISO 22000 standard.
