Abstract

Increasing population, reducing intellect and global pressure of performance have combined in such a way that country like India is finding it difficult to cope with the mounting pressure of providing quality education. This enforced our policy makers to re-think on core issues and address them in totality. The sixth pay in technical education in India was implemented with effect from 01.01.2006 keeping in view these objectives in preference. This new policy in technical education not only aimed to streamline many issues pending since a decade, but also opened some new frontiers. This analysis is an attempt to analyse the new policy against the fourth and fifth pay policies in technical education of India. The paper also aims to address the future impact of the provisions under the new policy.
