The impact of school management on the distribution of teaching service

Abstract

This study aims to understand how school management influences the distribution of teaching service. This investigation included data collection procedures based first on a quantitative methodology on the results obtained through a questionnaire survey with 49 teachers, deepened by a qualitative methodology, on data obtained through interviews with four teachers, representing basic and secondary school. The results show that teachers are aware of the legislation that corresponds to the distribution of teaching service agreeing with the way in which it is done. However, they understand that one of the criteria that must be taken into account is the teachers' request, which serves as their consultation in the process of attributing teaching service, provided that its attribution meets the legal requirements.
