Abstract

The main focus of this paper is a model for considering measures for executive performance outputs together with measures for executive behaviours in achieving those outputs. This model will allow its users to consider measures to improve executive performance. The aim is that any improvement in the executive performance will contribute to the improved performance and competitive position of their organisation. A holistic approach is proposed in considering executive performance measures. The research methodology is outlined in terms of a qualitative case study approach in data collection and subsequent analysis. Case study companies are described where fieldwork was conducted to learn about executive performance measures in practice. The proposed model is discussed in terms of its rationale and use. The paper concludes with a discussion about the methodology and the model.
