Adoption and impact of the internet: the case of Singapore

Abstract

Despite considerable attention on the development and benefits of the internet, relatively few studies have been done in Asia. Most research has focused on the USA and Europe. This paper reports on a questionnaire survey of the internet in an Asian country, namely Singapore. Internet demographics, internet applications, perceived impact of the internet and penetration of intranets and extranets are examined. Implications of the findings are discussed.
