Abstract

This comprehensive review investigates the impact of perceptions of organisational politics on job satisfaction, employee engagement, job stress, and job performance. Existing literature reveals that high perceptions of organisational politics are typically linked to decreased job satisfaction and employee engagement, and increased job stress. The relationship with job performance is complex and potentially beneficial for those skilled in navigating political landscapes. This comprehensive review underscores the importance of managing organisational politics effectively and promoting transparency, fairness, and ethical behaviour within the workplace. Organisations that strive to minimise negative perceptions of politics and foster a positive work environment can enhance employee satisfaction, engagement, well-being, and overall job performance.
