Abstract

This research aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of business performance to understand how scholarly work in this area has changed and developed over time. We analysed 230 articles from the Scopus database published between 2000 and 2021. To analyse these articles, we used performance analysis and scientific mapping with the help of the R package. The results indicate that the frequency of publications has significantly increased in the last decade, and 92% of the authors contributed at least one article, and 8% of the authors published 32 articles in the past two decades. UK, Hong Kong, and China were the most productive countries regarding the number of citations and international collaborations. The Strategic Direction and International Journal of Production Economics published the highest number of articles in business performance research.
