Abstract

The article justifies a necessity to increase competitiveness of branches and enterprises under conditions of globalised economy. It considers the essence of the "enterprise competitiveness" notion. It analyses types of competitive advantages. It reveals difficulties, which are originally inherent in the construction branch, and also those that are acquired during transition to the market and relevant problems of assessment of competitiveness of construction companies. It shows that companies of the branch function under conditions that were objectively established during transition period of the national economy, having received additional negative impulse under influence of the financial and economic crisis. It specifies main tasks solution of which is envisaged by assessment of the level of competitiveness of construction companies. It considers modern views and approaches to assessment of competitiveness of construction companies at a new economic stage with consideration of specific features of the construction branch. It specifies main groups of indicators which are used during assessment of competitiveness of a construction company.
