Abstract

This article analyses the historical background of discrimination of Meskhetian Turks. Meskhetian turks have been denied the most basic human rights and faced continuous persecution everywhere. Their story is full of tragic events. This article describes tragic events such as the repeated displacements of Meskhetian Turks and constant violation of their human rights. It also deals with the problems of the repatriation of the Meskhetian Turks such as hostile attitudes towards Meskhetians, popular opposition to the repatriation process, political and economic instability, conflicts and interethnic tensions.
