Abstract

The Summer Program of Scientific Research, created by the Mexican Academy of Sciences in Mexico was established as an instrument for promoting research activities among students and scholars. The objective of this study is to analyze the interest perceived. We examine a sample of students who participated in the Summer Program 2012 towards research activities and technological development. The design of the study was non-experimental transectional descriptive. The instrument used data collection was a questionnaire designed to measure the construct called "interest in early training in research activities" constituted by 5 variables and 7 dimensions. We concluded there is true interest of students in the development of research activities and non-personal limitations are perceived. However, the results indicate that knowledge and experience are not enough and institution and teachers should promote these activities with greater support.
