Abstract

In this paper an empirical test that aims to obtain the content validity of a measuring instrument to describe and characterize the competitiveness applied in 17 wine companies located in the old wine route in Ensenada Baja California is presented, using the model proposed by Lawshe (1975) and subsequently modified by Tristan (2008), through a series of 152 items, all of which were evaluated separately by seven experts using a scale where 1 = essential, 2 = Useful but not essential, and 3 = not important, looking for a Content Validity Ratio (CVR') greater than 0.5823. In conclusion, the instrument was composed of 13 items socio demographic plus 40 items related to the established variables with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.967. The importance of this empirical analysis is the possibility of using an instrument that has to be considered valid for gathering reliable information
