Abstract

The developing and changing world both locally and globally faces with a wide variety of environmental problems due to tapid population growth, excessive urbanization and excessive use of natural resources from the mid-20th century until nowadays. Excessive waste generation, excessive energy consumption and excessive use of resources that occur in modern healthcare institutions; which appears with the term “green hospital”. In this sense, it is aimed that health institutions will solve that increasing environmental problems in order to compensate for their environmental issues and develop services with less damage to the environment. By examining its contributions to health institutions and the environment; to provide information about green hospital concepts, feasible green hospital concepts put forward; at the same time drawing attention on the concept of green to the health sector in Turkey is the objective of the study. As a result; increasing the green hospital identity in both private and public sectors not only reduces the costs of health care services, but also increases the quality of health services. Considering the environmental and economic effects of the health sector, it is thought that it will contribute to both health professionals and social development in the production and delivery health services
