Abstract

Psychological empowerment is a situation related to the perceptions of employees and refers to the effort to eliminate the belief of powerlessness in employees or to increase their self-efficacy perceptions. Another concept as important as empowerment for organizations is commitment. Although there are different dimensions of commitment, emotional commitment is considered to be more important for organizations. One of the important issues for the employees is the wage and wage satisfaction can affect the employee in many ways. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect between psychological empowerment and emotional commitment through the moderator role of wage satisfaction. Within the scope of the study, data were collected from 693 public employees by survey technique. Correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the hierarchical regression analysis conducted to determine the effects of the variables, it was found that psychological empowerment predicted emotional commitment and wage satisfaction played a moderator role in this interaction.
