Abstract

It is seen that the concept of organizational dichotomy, which has been considered important in terms of management for a long time, has become frequently used in articles, papers, theses, books or book chapters in recent years. With the basic organizational dichotomy concept, individuals with specific personalities and tendencies of need and organizations with specific roles and expectations are mentioned. The aim of this study is to reveal the importance of the concept of organizational dichotomy for management. In this context, various academic publications published in the Google Scholar database have been evaluated with a comprehensive literature review. 125 international academic studies examined as samples were analyzed in the SPSS 22.0 program. Therefore, both qualitative and quantitative methods were used together in this study. In order to achieve the aim of the study, frequency and percentage distribution analysis and chi-square analysis were used in the statistical program. In general, according to the descriptive analysis results, the majority (62.4%) of the studies on the concept of organizational dichotomy were published between 2000 and 2020, were related to the field of economic and administrative sciences (36%) and were mostly in the United States (63.2%), it was found that it was published. In addition, as a result of the chi-square test conducted to determine whether there is a relationship between the countries where the studies on organizational dichotomy were conducted and the publication years of these studies, it was revealed that there was a significant relationship (0.024 0.005) and the publication years (p=0.5417> 0.005).
