Abstract

In this study, the determinations of the variables related to the intention of local tourists to revisit Alanya and the investigation of these variables by using Correspondence Analysis Method are aimed. In the line with these objectives, web based survey was surveyed to 157 local tourists who stayed at Alanya with the purpose of holiday according to convenience sampling method. In the light of the gathered data, Chi-Square Test of Independence is performed with categorical variables. As result of these tests, six categorical variables are determined that are related to the intention of local tourists to revisit Alanya. These are: (i) House hold income level, (ii) total number of holidays at Alanya, (iii) general satisfaction level of the last holiday at Alanya, (iv) the season of the last holiday at Alanya, (v) the place of stay of the last holiday at Alanya, and (vi) the promotion of Alanya. Then, the relationships between the categories of these six variables and the categories of the intention of local tourists to revisit Alanya are investigated separately by using Corerespondence Analysis Method. As a result, useful important indicators were obtained for Alanya tourism’s progress.
