Abstract

The context for the research is based on the migrant crisis and terrorist attacks in Europe in the second decade of the 21st century. The aim of this paper was to present the position of Polish leaders of the Christian churches, as well as the leaders of the most significant Polish political parties with regard to the issue of refugees and terrorism from the perspective of Angela Merkel’s declaration on the so-called Willkommenskultur. The author shall also present the manner of depicting the aforementioned position of the religious and political leaders adopted by the all-Polish daily papers (printed versions of “Gazeta Wyborcza” and “Rzeczpospolita”). The article proved that the media communication does not coincide with the institutional messages with regard to the position of the Polish political and religious leaders with regard to the issues subject to the analysis.
