Efeito da formação docente sobre proficiência no início do ensino fundamental

Abstract

Estimam-se efeitos da formação docente do EF em escolas públicas sobre desempenho dos alunos por meio de modelo de valor adicionado, lidando com endogeneidade. Não foram encontrados efeitos estatisticamente significantes da formação superior sobre a proficiência de seus alunos. Entretanto, alunos que tiveram docentes formados em Matemática apresentaram ganho médio de proficiência em Matemática de cerca de 4 pontos na escala SAEB (7% do σ) superior aos alunos que tiveram docentes sem formação superior. Já o efeito de docentes formados em Letras foi menor, com ganho médio de proficiência em Matemática de cerca de 1,4 ponto (2,6% do σ).
