Il diritto allo studio universitario nella morsa del carcere: note da una ricerca sul campo

Abstract

L?articolo trae spunto dall?esperienza, in qualit? di docente e volontario, presso il Polo universitario della Casa Circondariale di Torino ?Lorusso e Cutugno?. Il polo universitario presso l?istituto penitenziario subalpino costituisce la prima esperienza di didattica universitaria in carcere che, a partire dalla seconda met? degli anni ?80, ha conosciuto un processo di progressivo ampliamento ed istituzionalizzazione, sino a giungere alla creazione di una rete di poli universitari che in Italia si riconoscono nella Conferenza Nazionale Universitaria Poli Penitenziari-CNUPP. Le riflessioni proposte adottano una prospettiva sociologica per interrogarsi sull?impatto prodotto all?interno del sistema penitenziario e di quello accademico da tale processo di istituzionalizzazione. Muovendo dal caso torinese, l?autore presenta delle considerazioni, sia sui risultati ottenuti grazie all?esperienza dei poli universitari penitenziari, sia sugli aspetti ad oggi pi? problematici.
