Minoranze, conflitti e newsmaking: cornici storico-culturali e logiche giornalistiche

Abstract

Nella moderna ecologia dei media non si tratta tanto di entrare nel dibattito sulla necessit? o meno di come, e se, trattare notizie connesse al fenomeno della discriminazione, quanto piuttosto di constatare come spesso la mediatizzazione delle minoranze e della diversit? culturale non vada oltre determinati frame narrativi. All?interno del campo giornalistico vi sono cornici che (ri)producono e rafforzano nel tempo stereotipi negativi nei confronti di gruppi e comunit?, spesso a causa di una informazione confusa e sovraccarica oppure per la scarsa formazione dei giornalisti in merito a specifiche realt? storiche e culturali. A partire dal volume Studiare il giornalismo e le discriminazioni (tab edizioni, 2024), pubblicato dall?autore dell?articolo qui proposto, l?obiettivo del paper ? quello di riflettere criticamente sul rapporto tra media, professione giornalistica e discriminazioni culturali, offrendo prospettive e strumenti utili per esplorare le modalit? con cui il giornalismo affronta le attuali sfide pervasive della multiculturalit?, partendo dal caso studio della guerra ?dimenticata? in Ruanda, analizzando la sua narrazione in rapporto alle logiche mediali tradizionali e al ruolo del digitale come ambiente cognitivo-culturale contemporaneo.
