L?attivazione dell?anziano nelle strutture residenziali

Abstract

Nell?Anno Europeo dell?Invecchiamento Attivo, l?IRPPS-CNR di Salerno ha realizzato, in collaborazione e grazie ad un finanziamento del Comune di Napoli, il progetto Memory, un progetto di attivazione rivolto ad anziani non autosufficienti istituzionalizzati da anni. Il progetto si ? posto l?obiettivo di promuovere il massimo livello possibile di autonomia di un gruppo di anziani non autosufficienti di et? compresa tra 65 e 91 anni, utilizzando la narrazione come strategia di attivazione. Nella prospettiva del filone di studi meglio conosciuto come orientamento narrativo (Demetrio, 1996, 2008) il progetto ha infatti adottato la pratica auto-narrativa (che molto si avvicina alle metodologie dell?empowerment) per indurre processi di sviluppo personale, ovvero processi trasformativi dal punto di vista cognitivo, psicologico ed emotivo. Ha quindi indotto l?auto-narrazione a scopo terapeutico, utilizzandola come antidoto ai processi di spersonalizzazione che frequentemente si producono nelle strutture residenziali. In questo modo ha sviluppato, nei partecipanti alla ricerca, risorse personali e strategie di resilienza che hanno funzione protettiva nei confronti della consapevolezza di s? e del decadimento psico-fisico.
