La naturaleza de los vínculos y el escalamiento en el subsector hortícola en México

Abstract

El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar los vínculos de los productores mexicanos, específicamente sinaloenses, con las empresas líderes de la cadena global de valor de hortalizas y caracterizar sus posi-bilidades de escalamiento. La hipótesis analítica es que el segmento de producción hortícola en Sinaloa conduce a su transformación y mejoras organizacionales (innovación), a partir de la obtención de cer-tificaciones/requerimientos establecidos por los grandes compradores de la red, desembocando en vínculos dependientes-asimétricos (independiente de la gobernanza entre segmentos) que inhiben es-trategias de escalamiento que puedan incrementar significativamente la participación de los producto-res mexicanos en el total de los beneficios de la red. El objeto de estudio es una cadena agroalimentaria global dirigida por el comprador. por tanto, las lecciones que de ello se acumule estarán aplicadas en primera instancia a este tipo de redes.
