Abstract

Negatively charged air was shown to promote the complete combustion of paraffin spark plugs. Conversely, positively charged air was shown to promote melting of paraffin spark plugs, thereby preventing their complete combustion. After comparing these two results with previous ones, it was proposed to use negatively charged air to prepare fuel mixtures with gasoline in internal combustion engines. In this case, it is expected that the fuel efficiency of these engines could be significantly improved while maintaining their power. Nevertheless, the results presented here can be considered a response to Faraday’s call for further study of the spark plug combustion process.
