Abstract

This article offers a critical and interpretative essay on Cristóbal Kay’s Pensadores rebeldes [Rebellious Thinkers]. It systematizes, contextualizes, and analyzes the intellectual trajectories of Raúl Prebisch, Celso Furtado, André Gunder Frank, Theotônio dos Santos, Solon Barraclough, and Willem Assies, as portrayed by Kay. The article highlights the originality and heterodox character of their contributions to Latin American structuralism, dependency theory, agrarian studies, and critical development thought, emphasizing their distance from Eurocentric and mainstream approaches to underdevelopment.
