Abstract

La crisis que se ha vivido en los años recientes aunada a los nuevos esquemas de desarrollo del comercio mundial ha inducido a los países de la América Latina y el Caribe a replantearse su política de comercio exterior; inclusive los está llevando a hacer redifiniciones más profundas en sus estrategias de desarrollo, lo que ha obligado también, entre otros aspectos, a modificar los conceptos que en el pasado guiaron el proceso de integración económica de la región. De un proceso definido como de integración hacia dentro, que dominó el pensamiento económico latinoamericano de los años cincuenta a los setenta aproximadamente, se pasa a lo que hoy se podría llamar un proceso de integración hacia afuera...
