Abstract

Introducción. El objetivo de esta investigación es examinar la estructura salarial de la industria manufacturera brasileña y más específicamente la de la ciudad de Sao Paulo. La región metropolitana de Sao Paulo concentra 28.6% del total de trabajadores ocupados en la industria de la transformación en el Brasil. Por tanto nuestra investigación es representativa de uno de los núcleos industriales más importantes de la economía brasileña. En particular, la hipótesis que nos interesa examinar es la existencia de diferencias industriales de salario en la economía brasileña. Es decir, analizaremos hasta qué punto trabajadores con simialres niveles de educación, experiencia y otras características personales reciben distintos niveles de remuneración, dependiendo de la rama industrial en que laboran...
