La política comercial de la ganadería bovina en México

Abstract

El sector pecuario contribuye al producto interno bruto en aproximadamente 2.7%. Dentro de este sector destaca la ganadería bovina. Entre 1960 y 1980 el hato de ganado bovino creció a una tasa promedio anual de 2.9%. En la década de los ochenta la tasa de crecimiento promedio anual ha sido inferior a 1%(véase cuadro 1). Estas tasas son bajas si se considera que 1960 a 1980 la población creció a una tasa promedio anual superior a 3%, en tanto que en la década pasada la tasa de crecimiento ha sido de alrededor de 2.5 por ciento. Este comportamiento del hato ganadero se debe no sólo a factores aleatorios que pueden influir de manera negativa en la actividad(por ejemplo el clima), sino también a las políticas públicas adoptadas por las diferentes administraciones...
