Abstract

Introducción. El Índice de Volumen de la Producción Industrial(IVPI) es uno de los principales indicadores de la economía del país, ya que refleja el nivel promedio de la actividad mensual lograda por la industria. En realidad el nivel mismo del índice no es importante ya que carece de unidades; lo que realmente importa medir son los cambios que se observan de un mes o otro en dicho nivel, es decir la variación porcentual del índice, que se puede interpretar como la tasa de crecimiento de la actividad industrial y, en buena medida, de toda la actividad económica del país...
