Un análisis de la organización del territorio en los países centroamericanos

Abstract

Por medio de diversos estudios se ha evidenciado la importante función que la variable espacio ha desempeñado en el crecimiento económico de Centroamérica. No obstante, todavía existen muchos aspectos del espacio centroaméricano en espera de ser analizados. Este trabajo tiene por objeto investigar algunas relaciones entre población, dimensión territorial y división político administrativa en los países del Itsmo. Para ello se presenta una reseña de la bibliografía sobre el tema de población y división geopolítica, y se examinan posteriormente las relaciones estructurales entre densidad de población y tamaño del territorio que han dado lugar a sus divisiones político administrativas. finalmente se presentan algunas consideraciones sobre otros fenómenos que puedan también influir en la organización territorial de los Estados centroaméricanos...
