Abstract

I. Importación ideológica y reproducción latinoamericana. Es evidente que tanto la propiedad y la gestión pública como la propia intervención del Estado han sido objeto de una critica dura, sostenida y creciente en los últimos años. Como en tantas otras cosas, el origen y el impulso de la nueva onda radican en las economías centrales -particularmente en los Estados Unidos y la gran Bretaña- alimentados por el supuesto desgaste del llamado "Estado benefactor" (Welfare State) y del desarrollismo expansivo de posguerra. De la mano ha ido la cobertura intelectual del viejo liberalismo económico (Adam Smith y sus congéneres), del remozado de la escuela austriaca (el duradero Hayek y compañía) y de la traducción de sus descoloridos epígonos norteamericanos y europeos. La prédica ideológica se ha reproducido en la América Latina -particularmente en Chile- por medio de la escuela de Chicago y de instituciones como el Fondo Monetario y el Banco Mundial, cuyo recursos e influencias la respaldan poderosamente...
