Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyse the standards that characterise entrepreneurial dynamism in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country during the period between 1993 and 1999. Our empirical study on the total population of establishments reveals that the inlet and outlet rates offer similar behaviours to those of other advanced countries. A more conscientious analysis on what sectors and geographical areas reach the greatest net establishment generation indexes has allowed us to identify the existence of a natural cluster that fulfils the function of being the driving force behind the development of Basque economy.
