Abstract

The evolutionary process that the electric power sector is currently undergoing transcends a merely local approach, a real world trend with a clear market orientation is now being perceived. In general, all western economies are facing changes in their regulatory and entrepreneurial structures, a situation which is opening business and wealth creation opportunities. To take advantage of these opportunities, Basque industry is to properly handle alliances and cooperation that will allow it to overcome the current situation of vulnerability derived from its dependency in the energy field.
