Abstract

In the present paper the role of technology on the explanation of the four neoclassical paradoxes related to trade and growth is emphasized. There is a revision on the efforts that have been made either from the neoclassical orthodox point of view or from the more heterodox authors in order to reconsider the nature and effects of technical change. After surveying empirical works trying to test the intrasectoral technology-trade relations, an application to the Spanish regional context is made, measuring a priori regional technology stock. The period of study is 1990-1995.
