Abstract

The insufficiency of internal savings in the Spanish economy and the deficit of the balance of payments have been financed by means of a massive internationalization process with a massive influx of foreign capital, which is revealed by a sharp increase in foreign presence in corporate capital and the transfer abroad of decision-making centres, all of which takes place within a context of greater freedom in the movement of capitais. The increased financial fragility of the economy and foreign dependency make it necessary to boost internar savings as a stable source of finance for the economy.
