Abstract

Given the changing context which, in the last few years, has been surrounding those industrial policies related to space planning, there is now a new role for those agencies, institutes or societies devoted to regional development and administered by the various Autonomous Communities. They appear as an emergent management instrument for the new regional industrial policy based on mobilizing endogenous potencial. Within this framework, this article aims to analyse the role played by SPRI throughout the eighties as a new tool for regional action in the Basque Country.
