Abstract

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the performance of the Basque Public Sector in Financial matters. This analysis has to be necessarily incompleto due to the absence of public information about the real movements of certain financial assets. The work examines more carefully those aspects that have reached, according to the authors, more repercussion and relevancy from a financial point of view. These aspects are referred to the role played by the Basque Country Autonomous Community in relation to the public debt and the stock market, the regulation of those financial intermediaries operating in the Basque Country and the support given to private investment through preferential credit lines agreed with some financial entities.
