The State and economic development of Formosa

Abstract

This is a study of the role of the State in the development of the Republic ofChina after Second World War. It aims to understand how the State accelerated the rate ofcapital accumulation, the role of exports and the nature of the State itself under the dictatorshipthat ruled the country for decades.
