Abstract

The clinical content of community pharmacists' work was studied in a well-doctored and a poorly-doctored area. A total of 315 interactions between clients and pharmacy staff were observed. Some level of clinical work was recorded in approximately one-third of these interactions, with this proportion being significantly higher in the poorly-doctored area. Alternative interpretations of these findings are examined.
