The search for reliable indicators of research effectiveness--A constant cause of ineffective research?

Abstract

Summary William Starbuck's article "The constant causes of never-ending faddishness in the behavioral and social sciences" is, for me, at the same time a delight and a disappointment. In this short comment, I will articulate why Starbuck's fight against the four misbeliefs plaguing behavioral and social sciences electrifies and elates me and yet makes me hesitate and scruple.
