Abstract

The combustion characteristics of coal gangue mixed with peanut shell were studied under the condition of high heating rate in a vertical combustion experiment system. The effects of temperature, oxygen concentration and mixing ratio on combustion characteristics were analyzed. Luminescence parameters were calculated by digital image processing technology to evaluate the intensity of mixed combustion. Moreover, the microscopic characterization and mineral analysis of combustion residue were also carried out. The influence of the interaction between coal gangue and peanut shell on the combustion in the furnace was further analyzed. The interaction mechanism of mixed fuel combustion at high heating rate in the furnace was revealed. The variation of the combustion time parameter is the result of the competition between increasing and shortening the combustion duration during the combustion process. The interaction between 25 wt% coal gangue and 75 wt% biomass in the furnace and non-isothermal conditions promotes combustion, and interaction between fuels in the furnace is mainly affected by mass transfer process.
