Abstract

We present a comprehensive investigation of quantum correlations in the one-dimensional spin-1/2 isotropic XY spin-chain model by employing two distinct quantum measures: steered coherence (SC) and geometric discord (GD). Our objective is to systematically compare how these measures capture quantumness as a function of temperature, external magnetic field, and spin–spin interaction strength. Our analysis reveals that SC and GD exhibit significantly different behaviors. A key finding is that while both measures demonstrate a decreasing trend as temperature rises, especially for increased interaction strengths, SC proves to be a more robust measure, persisting across a wide parameter range. In contrast, GD is more fragile, vanishing rapidly with increasing temperature and magnetic field, and is non-zero only in a limited low-temperature, low-field region. We also analyze the non-monotonic behaviors of these measures, connecting their features to the known quantum phase transition in the model. Our findings provide insights into the interplay between thermal effects and quantum correlations in spin-chain systems.
