Statistical properties of particle diffusion in molten AgI and Lennard–Jones liquid in a mesoscopic time regime
A distribution law of classical particle-diffusion toward that of the Gaussian process is extensively studied for molten AgI and Lennard–Jones liquid (liquid Ar) by molecular dynamics simulation. In a time scale of the order from 1ps to 100ps, a generalized spatio-temporal distribution law of the particle displacement, P(r,t)/P(0,t)=exp(−arβ/tα)(0<α⩽1,0<β⩽2), is confirmed to exist over a wide temperature range around and above the melting point.
